Why would an adult get thrush in the mouth?
Could acid reflux be a cause?

Heartburn is not the cause of getting mouth thrush
(some adults may experience discomfort or a burning feeling however) .
Some of the reasons why adults get oral thrush are:
*As a side effect of medication/antibiotics/birth control pills
- Immune deficiency
- Not well controlled Diabetes
- Sexually transmitted
- Poor nutrition
- Smoking

Thrush is caused by an overgrowth of yeast in the body.
It begins in the intestines where the candida yeast organism exists, normally in tiny amounts but it can frequently spread elsewhere in our bodies.

Left unchecked yeast can change to it's fungal form & multiply swiftly.
